A plain guide to the AREX Express, the AREX all-stop train, airport limousine buses and taxis from Incheon Airport into Seoul, with listed fares and times.

For most visitors the choice comes down to where you are sleeping. Take the AREX Express if you want a nonstop train to Seoul Station on a fixed timetable. Take the cheaper AREX all-stop train if you are staying along its line, such as the Hongik Univ. (Hongdae) area. Take airport limousine 6001 or 6015 if your hotel is near Myeongdong, Dongdaemun or Mapo and you would rather not change vehicles with luggage. Use a metered taxi or an International Taxi from the official ranks when you want to ride door to door.
The options side by side

AREX Express: the fixed-time train
The Express runs nonstop between Seoul Station and the airport. The scheduled ride is about 43 minutes to T1 and about 51 minutes to T2, because the train calls at T1 on the way to T2. The posted fare is 13,000 KRW for either terminal, and it is a separate ticket from the all-stop train.
From October 23, 2026 the Express runs 56 times a day, both directions combined, up from 52. The four added runs are in the middle of the day, where the average gap between trains falls from 39 to 35 minutes.
Under the timetable that takes effect on October 23, 2026, the same on weekdays and holidays, the first and last departures toward Seoul are 05:16 and 22:40 from T2, and 05:24 and 22:48 from T1. Toward the airport, the first and last departures from Seoul Station are 06:00 and 23:00. Anyone with an early flight should note that the first train from Seoul Station leaves at 06:00. Times may change, so check AREX before you travel.
AREX all-stop train: the lowest fare if you are on the line
The all-stop train is the lowest-fare choice among the rail and bus options here: 4,750 KRW between T1 and Seoul Station, or 5,350 KRW between T2 and Seoul Station, when you pay with a transit card. The scheduled ride is 59 minutes to T1 and 66 minutes to T2, and AREX notes that some trains take 2 to 6 minutes longer.
The stops, in order, are Seoul Station, Gongdeok, Hongik Univ., Digital Media City, Magongnaru, Gimpo Airport, Gyeyang, Geomam, Cheongna Int'l City, Yeongjong, Unseo, Cargo Terminal, and then Incheon Airport T1 and T2. If your hotel is near Hongik Univ. (Hongdae), Gongdeok or Digital Media City, you can ride straight there without going into Seoul Station first.
If you do not have a transit card, a single-use ticket costs 100 KRW more than the card fare, plus a refundable deposit of 500 KRW.
Limousine 6001 and 6015: no train change near the central stops
Both routes cost 17,000 KRW for an adult. Seats are first come, first served, there is no online reservation, and you can pay by transit card or cash.
- 6001 serves Dongdaemun (DDP), Myeongdong Stn, Bank of Korea, Seoul Station (Exit 3 / Transfer Center), Sookmyung Univ. Stn, Samgakji and Sinyongsan, then Incheon Airport T1 and T2.
- 6015 serves Myeongdong, Euljiro, Chungjeongno, Gongdeok and Mapo, and runs to Incheon Airport T1 and T2.
These suit travellers whose hotel is near one of those stops, because a seat on the bus can replace a transfer with bags. We did not confirm a timetable for rides between the airport and the city, so check the operator's timetable page for the route you want. Road journeys also vary with traffic.
Taxis: door to door, paid by the meter
A regular taxi from the Incheon Airport taxi rank starts at 4,800 KRW and then runs on the meter. Deluxe and large taxis start at 7,000 KRW. Between 22:00 and 04:00 a late-night surcharge of 20 to 40 percent applies. The airport's taxi page does not publish a total fare into Seoul and does not state tolls, so we do not give a total here. The meter decides the final amount.
The airport also describes International Taxi as an officially designated taxi for foreign visitors. It uses a zone-based fare system for trips between Incheon Airport and Seoul and offers foreign-language service. Its number is 1644-2255, and its ranks are T1 4C and T2 3C. The airport page does not list the zone prices, so we do not quote them. Use the designated taxi ranks, which helps you avoid illegal call-van touts.
Which one suits you
- You want the most predictable ride to Seoul Station: the AREX Express.
- You are staying near Hongdae, Gongdeok or Digital Media City, or you want the lowest fare: the AREX all-stop train.
- You are staying near Myeongdong, Dongdaemun or Mapo with heavy bags: limousine 6001 or 6015.
- You want to be dropped at your door, or you are arriving late at night: a metered taxi or an International Taxi from the official rank.
Before you leave the airport
- Check whether your flight lands at T1 or T2, because AREX travel times, and all-stop train fares, differ by terminal.
- Match your hotel to a train station or a limousine stop using the lists above.
- Have a transit card or cash ready for the all-stop train and the limousine.
- If you take a taxi, join the official rank rather than accepting an offer from someone in the hall.
Please confirm current fares and times on the official page before travel, since operators can change both.
